| | ambeint lab noises vol.1 | ] | Ok, so I've been sitting in lab (well, I've actually done more standing) for like 3 hours and my mesurements are still coming out really UGLY. Come to think of it, I've been doing this a lot lately, disappearing into the BatCave known as lab and not coming out until I can find a good excuse to leave. The science is interesting, but lab work is so TEDIOUS. I know I won't be able to do it for a career, so I'm positive I want to be a doctor now.
I can't figure out exactly why this place seems so much less horrible than it is. I have a blast here, yet I don't know what to do with friends when they come and visit. I could show them Boston, but I don't exactly go to the MFA for fun or anything.
Damn, I think I screwed up the exp. Oh well.
Geez, why does this entry seem so blah?

OMFG. It's freaking BLIZZARDing up in here. I didn't go to me math lecture cuz I didn't feel like trekking through the mess that is outside. I've been sitting in my room for like 2 hours and in that time, my window has accumulated a 1.5in thick layer of snow on the outside, so I can no longer see outside from my room. Anyway, i'm bored. Tell me a joke. |

Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
In March I helped janeberryblue hide a body (-173 points). Last week I put money in fearnitro8's expired parking meter (14 points). Last Sunday I set raincloud1239's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last Wednesday I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). Last month I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-232 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!
Sincerely, cheesechickn |

| | "Gasolina" - Daddy Yankee | ] | So, right now I'm really bored cuz I have a p-set and a test this week, but i lack the motivation to do them. Damn 8.01 sucks. Anyway, last night I saw walk the line w/ my cousin Anajana and my friend Nima. The movie was pretty good, but it was dragging on like a dead horse attached to a station wagon. I made the mistake of drinking a Red Bull at around 11pm so by the time I got back to my room (3am) I still had about 2 hours of juice left in me. I sat by my computer like a loser and played the HP GoF game for 2 hours until I fell asleep at 5am. Yeah, I woke up at around noon. It was awesome.
Anyway, I just thought I'd let y'alls know that I'll be home by 11pm on Wed, so you bitches better be excited. I plan on defeating the entire GoF game by the end of my flight, and I don't intend to deplane until I have accomplished this task. I may have to live in SDF if I get stuck. Oh Well.
Friday night was the Theta Xi thanksgiving formal, to which I was invited by my friend Paul, who is gay, but decided to take me cuz we be friends. Why do I only seem to get the gay ones? No matter. The food was GOOD and the pies were even better. We started playing this game called the penny game. My friend Mariel ('06) learned it while she was in Cambridge (England) last year. It goes like this:
If you drop a penny in someone's drink, they must down it then and there and do the same to someone else If you drop two pennies in someone's drink, you must down it then and there If you drop a penny in someone's drink not knowing there is already a penny in there, you must down it then and there
This game does involve a lot of skill cuz you're supposed to "catch your victim by surprise". All the brothers were supposed to bring a drink (usually wine) for themselves and their date. However, seeing as I don't drink, Paul gracioulsy brought us sparkling grape juice. Mandy still found it hilarious when she pennied my drink, even though it had no inebriating effect on me. I found it even more hilarious when I pennied kenny's glass of chocolate milk. Just imagine drink chocolate WHOLE milk in one gulp (barf) (well, he didn't barf cuz it was only a wine glass full)
After dinner, all the pledges had to sing the theta xi song, which they butchered horribly. The older brothers decided to show them up by singing it themselves, but it's possible that their butchering was worse then the pledges.
I got sleepy from the turkey and went home at like 12:00. What a loser I am. It was damn cold out side and even though McC is only like 10 feet from the SafeRide stop, I still think my legs turned into icicles.
That's it for now, see yous guys soon.
P.S. triple integrals suck ass |

OMG, I saw Harry Potter at 9:00pm last night and it was sooooo f-ing good. I seriously thought that this one was gonna suck cuz first of all, it's my favorite book out of all of them and second of all I didn't think they could make the 4th one into only one movie. Man, was I proven wrong. This new director guy is GENIUS beyond imagination. He is my new god.
BTW, did anyone else melt in their seat when they saw Cedric?? I wished I was a scottish/irish asian girl for a moment there.
Word is Bond,

| | Coldplay - In My Plaace | ] | Ok, I know it's been like forever since I updated my LJ, but I've has like assloads of work to do since I started classes and frankly, it's just a little more iportant. Anyway, I went out with some friends last night to see The Constant Garnder. What a depressing movie. If pharmaceutical companies really do things like that, I think I'm going to become a witch doctor instead of a real one. What added salt to my wounds was the fact that it was raining like a mo fo yesterday and the day before. I was wearing a T-shirt and I thought I was going to DIE on the way back. I finally made it back to my dorm and snuggled up in my comforter and slept until NOON. That's like 10 hours. Anyway, two nights ago, as in friday night, the Improv group that I'm in, Roadkill Buffet, had a show at a real comedy club in North Boston. The club was called Improv Asylum and we were one of two acts in the midnight show. Most of the people in the audience were our friends, but it was still really cool. Our show went great and I was in such a good mood until I stepped outside and it was POURING. This was at like 1:00 AM so the T stopped running and there were so many of us, it was pointless to get a cab. So, we walked like 3 miles in the rain back to campus. When we finally got there, I, once again, snuggled up into my blankets and fell asleep for like 11 hours.
I haven't done any work yet this weekend, but my goal for today is to finish my chem P-set so that tomorrow I can finish my math P-set so that tuesday I can finish my Physics P-set and study for my Physics exam. God, my like is so uneventful. Oh well, what to do?
I'm realizing more and more each day that I really do like it here. I thought that everyone here would be really nerdy and anti-social, but most people here are really cool while being unbelieveably brilliant. And the goos thing is, if a guy here is really good looking, you don't have to worry about how much he has stored in his head, cuz he's probably a crazy genius physics major or sumthin.
That's right, now I remember what I wanted to say. I had my first Chem exam on wednesday. After the exam, my professor announced that her colleague in the Chemistry department had won the nobel prize that morning. The guy who won the prize, Dr.Schrock, taught the chem class I'm taking two years ago. It was kind of a relief for MIT because we didn't get the Physics prize, so we weren't sure we were going to get one this year. Anyway, he had a lecture later that day at 4:00 and I decided that I should go and see the most recent nobel laureate. We arrived at the lcture at around 3:50 and the lecture hall was PACKED. On top of that, the air conditiong system was broken and I had to stand in the back of the balcony so I really only heard him most of the time. Still, it was pretty amazing.
I should really do some work. I'll see you guys when I come home for thanksgiving! |

So, today I woke up at like 4:30 in the early morn cuz I had to catch a plane to Boston. Well, technically I caught a plane to Cinncinatti and then I went to Boston from there. Anyway, the flight from the ville to Cinnci was all of 25 min long so we sarted to descend about 3 seconds after we reached our cruising altitude. I had to sit next to this military-guy who said only one thing to me the whole time: "Good thing you're small". Now, I can understand that out of context, that may sound slightly creepy. I assume he said that because I has the window seat and if I had had to go to the bathroom, he wouldn't have to adjust as much. Anyway, once I got to cinncinatti airport, I had a pretzel at Auntie Anne's. It was mediocre. After that, I still had about two hours left until my flight so I watched WEEDS on my computer and CNN on the airport TV. I was getting more and more bored, so I decided to go for a short walk. I passed by the Info screens and saw that MY GATE HAD BEEN CHANGED!!! I thankfully caught it in time and was seated next to a very androgenous looking woman(?) on the plane. I was reading "The Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella when the stewardess came by with the drink. For some reason, the person sitting next to me decided that this was the perfect moment to tell me that her book, by Alice Munro, was very good and that I should read it for its profound subtleties. I nodded my head as I tried to hide my book from her line of vision so that she would assume I was capable of complex thought. Anyway, as soon as I got to the baggage claim, I saw a guy in an MIT shirt who was supposed to pick me up. I totally forgot his name, but he seemed like a nice guy. Once I got my bag, another MIT shuttle guy, this one asian, came buy to help me with my stuff. They took me to a van that was being driven by yet another MIT guy and we all piled in. So there I was in my "first experience" at MIT with three upperclassmen guys who were discussing something about their frat. Anyway, once I got to my dorm, I got settled and I found Sonia. That's all for know. |
